hi guys,

noticed since ive had my car the door hasnt been in line with the bodywork and also when opening the drivers door it drops slightly, well its starting to get a bit worse and needing to lift the door while closing,

how much of a pain are hinges to change and anything i should watch out for?

How i did mine was take the whole door off as it was easier that way on my own open the door fully you should be able to see the hinges where they bolt to the inner wings ... as for wiring just a couple of multi plugs in the kick well ... but check with aftermarket alarm wires etc ...

or open the door then put a jack under the end with padding to take the weight of it and simply remove one at a time and replace with good ones which we have in stock if needed

You can get pins & sleeve bushes for these but if can get good used it easy hassle free route.
Other trick on these is stealing bushes/pins out of 5 door sunny rears or front left & using them make good driver door ones, also as the 5 doors are lighter the hinges normally better condition !
Jack is good & even the nissan scissor jack works well for this with suitable padding.
I found dropping window a little & using a strop  on door frame at end on over head beam/hoist works good as really keep door stable like that especially with top hinge off.

so replacing the hinges 1 at a time is the best way instead of removing the whole door first?

^ Yes & I always start bottom hinge first if it needed .
I was told the navara style hinge bush & pins can be made work on our hinges but not tried that to confirm. remaking a standard hinge is hard way to though if got good used or affordable new.

I replaced mine as stated above, one at a time. I used 5 door hinges and they worked perfectly. I did still have abit of trouble aligning the door properly but just take your time.

5 hinges? there is only 2 per door?

allbeit i cant see how to remove the hinge without taking the front wing off or does the hinge split in the center?

Yeah not 5 hinges, a 5 door hinge. It is a tight fit, but as long as your careful it will be fine. I think I was careless and slightly scratched the quarter panel with spanner from memory.
