Hi, I'm swapping my Hybrid fmic for a Pace & I've been buying pipe & silicones to suit. I'm planning to reuse the Hybrid's turbo up pipe & cut it somewhere near the top rad hose then use a 135 deg elbow & a 45deg reducing elbow to fit the Pace's 50mm inlet. My question is will the silicone elbow stay sealed on the unswaged cut pipe? I would use a pair of T clamps to make it as secure as poss. Would it hold?!
Cheers!
Martin.

You can make a diy swaging took from am old pair of vice grips and a washer welded to it. Google it.

A few slugs of weld around the end of the pipe circumference will also do the job. Used it mant times when I could not use a swaging tool.

Cheers. I can't weld so think I'll take the part to a machine shop & get it done properly. I don't think the pipe from the Pace outlet will run straight to the inlet elbow either so I'll probably need a bend put in that too. Should still work out very reasonable as I paid £85 for the cooler & silicones, pipes & clamps around £65. The pace is slightly larger in area than the Hybrid but only 2 inches deep vs 3. Along with about half the pipe run length it will hopefully sharpen the pick up?

Which pace cooler is it mate?, I have the early one where the inlet and outlet are half way up the end tanks I mocked up my own pipework as what it came with wasn't the best, pretty easy to do, the pick up is definitely much better than the standard tmic that was on it.

Hi,  I've seen a couple of different ones. My one has the inlet coming out & turning 90deg, & the outlet lower down. Maybe something to do with avoiding aircon pipes? I may have to reroute the top rad hose but I'll see when its all offered up.Intercooler pipe without swaged end. <a href=Intercooler pipe without swaged end. IMG_20150305_130450" />

This is the other type. I'll have to see if my UK Sunny size rad will fit in front of it & whether slimline fan/fans are required.Intercooler pipe without swaged end. <a href=Intercooler pipe without swaged end. Image-31" />

Those are both different to my one, I think mine may be a really early type, a bit of fiddling and re-routing should be all you need mate, maybe re-site the inlet rather than re-routing the top rad hose?.

Can you post a pic of your version?! Tbh, i'd prefer the inlet to be the same size as the outlet to avoid using the reducer ellbow. Would be good if the firm i find to swage the pipe can sort that too? I'll see how it works out & post pics.

Blimey! How many versions did they make? The 2 inch inlet might have been due to clearance issues? Would like to see pics of all versions. The core seems very thin (28mm?) Wonder how much bhp they are rated at? I might need something thicker for my desired 380bhp?

The turbo size limits horsepower really anything bigger than standard turbo would hit the fans
