So my neighbour, who lives across the road from where my mum keeps her horse, called the other morning to report a big branch had come down in the strong winds we had here monday night. So I grab my chainsaw and head there after work Tuesday night to be confronted by this

Its an oak Leighton, so wanna get it cut up quickly as an oak is a killer of chains when it dies off. Some of it may already be dead as this thing didn't uproot, it snapped off at the base Shocked
Got several people interested in firewood so a bit of money to be made Smile

Bit of useless info, the Oak does not get woodworm as it is to hard for the little blighters to bore into, careful with that chainsaw !

Good to know but didn't suspect woodworm, think its just gone rotten at the base for some reason, ill get a photo of the base tomorrow.

The 880 is similar to my dads saw but his was older version a couple of year back. No stopping the thing. My dad is a wizard with sharpening chains n servicing them

The older saws are better. On some of the new ones you tune the carb through Bluetooth, that shit is just not needed!

Old is gold, BT carb tuning on a chainsaw is a bit unneeded lol
I have an old kawasaki strimmer & thing is superb, easy fix, tweak with newer style carb & retrofit parts etc, & minimal plastic shit & no emission control which aids reliability & simplicity.

Stihl and Husqvarna are using Bluetooth technology but think its more common on the bigger saws. From what im told the Bluetooth system is linked to the carb and the ignition module and tuned through software on a laptop. As said its just overcomplicating things.

Why burn it when im doing well from it. Got a friend interested in making planks out of the trunk if possible. Ive exchanged a few van loads for favours instead of money. For me favours are more handy than a bit of cash Wink
