Can somebody please explain the uses and advantages of these to me please because I have no idea in the slightest.
And also are they a straight for or quite complicated to install ?

They allow more accurate and consistent boost control.

Not a straight forward install, you will need a manifold for it or a modified standard one, as well as a dump pipe that routes the gases back to the exhaust.

If your turbo has an internal.wastegate it will also need to be welded or blocked shut.

Thanks for the quick reply grim !!! And ahh I see sounds like a lot of work tbh but was well worth an ask Smile you going to the 25th anniversary meet ?

As above, unless changing to a larger turbo and deciding to buy a new manifold there are advantages of moving to an external gate. Other than that I would leave it internally gated.

When you don't plumb the external waste gate pipe back in to the exhaust it becomes a 'screamer' pipe! The external ones control high boost pressures from turbos better than the poppet valve internal ones like our standard T 28's.
