so i took my car to the bodyshop who are just ignoring me now Sad , the issue i was having was when my new arch was fitted it wasnt lined up with the other side, i can basically fit my hand under the standard arch, now the other side is alot lower so i cant even fit my hand on top of the wheel so every bump i hit my arch scrapes my tyre *sadface, so ive decided to rub it down and paint it with a rattle can till i can i find a reliable bodyshop to paint it as rust just keep comin through and looks untidy.

disappointed in my rear arch repair dunno what i can really do about it as it was a supplied arch from a 5 door sunny Sad

That needs doing again by sounds of it.
Like I said in original topic you need do homework on good bodyshop as 80% including some recommended are sh1te.
No way rust should be coming through that fast really even with just primer.
Using 5 door is no problem generally as arch curve same & just needs aligning cutting correct.
Bit unlucky on this arch job :-( part of reason I hate bodywork as hard as hell find people do decent work.
Due to fact alignment so bad I would be requesting my money back or go through trading standards as current job not fit for use if rubbing tyre.
Only way you get decent body work is by knowing fair bit about it yourself & telling um what primers/sealers you want used & seeing job at stages such as welded, primed etc.
Hope you get some resolve but current mess don't sound worth a proper top coat :-/

Sounds like it needs cutting off and redoing mate .... i cant understand how they have got it so far wrong surely it would of needed to be married up to the inner arch Rolling Eyes

well the inner arch was also replaced, just seemed like surface rust so it basically just wiped off

I wouldn't trust it for expense of decent top coat & add in fact that arch too low makes the way forward chopping out & doing by someone who competent & fussy.
Problem with most welders & bodyshops is they like doing everything quick quick quick & don't care if right or lasts well.
Is very easy measure arch height by putting tape mark above area & measuring to arch points.
I would make a stink over that and needs be reported to appropriate bodies & even small claims court if the c00nts won't refund or put it right.
Don't think I would want them doing more work though so if can get some cash back best moving on & finding better, maybe someone can help recommend someone in your area ?
On the plus side you MOT'd & other problems worked out well so best taking time on this as shoddy body repairs are worse than leaving it as was. Good lick ...

Well i actually went out and measured the the 2 arxhes and to be honest both sides from top of arch to bottom of window are exactly the same distance, i guess this might be my shocks that are knackered? Wierd as mot should have noticed that???

You got broken or week spring perhaps ?
double check all alignment & measures & if happy you probably best just finding decent shop to prep & spray it that have better customer relations.
think would still cut it back to metal rather than risk rust coming through final paint within a year. From involvement I have had with bodyshop sill & arch repair most treat weld lips prior to welding & use epoxy primer before filler work to help keep rot away. good sealers on the inner arch join along with full undersealing is a must.
