RussT GTi-R

Hi,

I'm looking for 'bolt-on' arch extensions made to fit the GTi-R. Lots of universal kits available, but most poorly fit or need mass loads of work to fit. Can anybody point me in the direction of some please? I'm considering fitting them to my project RA.

The name 'Richie Lee' was suggested to me as someone who might be able to help?

Will try to add some pics so you know what I'm looking for.

Cheers for any help!!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your response. Did they have much trouble fitting them, did they need a lot of modification? Do they look tidy & good close up?

Thanks for your help!

I purchased a set over eBay which looked the right dimensions & close to a good fit, but closer scrutiny & actually putting up against the car & they would take a lot of work!!!

Which ones on eBay are you looking at?

They looked tidy upclose Smile and i guess if you get the universal type you can use a heatgun to shape them first, then maybe use a small dremel and cut to shape. Once bolted on to the body they looked very neat Smile

I havent got any myself but if you type 'baniak GTIR' in youtube and google it should come up with some. Its for sale now Smile It was imported from the UK to poland and then converted to LHD. Then they put a VE head on it and did many magical things to it Very Happy last time i remember it was running around 430bhp Smile

Thats that GTIR straight after import from UK but already LHD and registered (you cant register LHD cars in poland so needed doing first) - https://s48.photobucket.com/user/Coobcio/media/Coobcia%20Kuty%20GTI-R%20GT3071r/IMG_8317.jpg.html

Love the bolt on look but my scrawny 6.5 × 15 inch Rota's would need upgrading to 8 inch width to fill them. Apart from increased weight reducing low end pick up, wonder how tyre wear & handling would be affected?

The 8j alloys and slicks required a wider setup on track thats why they went with arch extensions etc. and yeah alot of the arch was cut out for to bolt the extensions but who cares, looks sick! Very Happy
