Which ECU options offer control of the GTI-R "high idle" problem? I seem to recall the Apex I power fc was supposed to be able to cure a high idle if nothing else worked? Are there any mor modern options (Nistune?) which can manage it too?

Hey Marty! I can't really help you with the ecu options other than looking at complete stand alone ecu's. However if you have a high idle problem Id recommend trying to fix it rather than trying to manage it through an ecu, normally it can be fixed looking at some issues in this thread

I know I didn't really answer your question and you might have looked at these things already Smile

Hi Woody, I know there are a huge number of possible issues that can cause high idle speed, eg; air leaks, breather issues, aac valve issues, wear in throttle spindles, & a shed load of others. I'm planning to go for a modest power upgrade of around 370- 380bhp that requires 550-600cc injectors, Z32, GTX 2860-63r & ecu to suit. I just thought if I could control the idle speed via ecu it might save headaches?

Ah yeah that's some good upgrades you are looking at. Depending on ecu you select there are options that will typically remove some of the issues/ components that commonly cause high idle problems on the standard ecu. Standalone ecus will do this, one of the other lads here will know way more about this than me. Imo id try and figure what's cuasing the high idle now so you don't run into more probelms down the track Smile

Look forward to seeing more about the upgrades though thumbsup

As above if you have a high idle find the fault rather than mask it. Or you will up the power and have all sorts of problems
