Hey guys, has anybody got any pics of where the rear engine stabilizer mount should be located? I've just Installed my front one which i filled up with poly and i was also thinking about doing the rear but i cannot find it, i spotted a bracket that looks like its off the mount which is located on the firewall? is that the one? thanks!

Have you still got the Y bracket fitted for the top mount intercooler? As that may be in the way...

If you look down past righthand side of the inlet, then you will see the top of the gearbox, towards the back asif you looking where gearbox meets transfer box then you will see the mount on the top of the gearbox

I think that we're on about the exactly the same spot, but my R hasnt got a stabilizer there. I can see where it would mount on the firewall but theres nowhere to mount it on the box. I know that my R had the gearbox replaced at one point and possibly they just didnt put one on ;/

It has a bracket bolted onto the gearbox that the stabaliser bolts to... So unless the bracket is missing?

yeah bracket with a long pin on it, pin has a square edge so you can tighten the nut without it spinning Smile

im just in need of the bracket atm ;/ my engine shakes really badly when i turn the car off and i thought that its the front stabilizer, i got one off bob, filled it up with poly. Put it on the car today but pretty much same thing happened so i started searching for the second one thinking its completely focked like the front was but as it turns out i havent got one haha Very Happy

Have a look at the other 3 mounts fella to make sure that they are not splitting, as if the stabilisers are in poor condition and/ or missing as your back one is it will have put more strain on these, iirc my engine started shaking on shut down and it turned out to be the main mounting on the drivers side. u can stuff a energy suspension poly bush into the front stabilizer to stiffen it up
maybe it'll help offset the missing stabilizer

*** EDIT NM, im a dummy and can't read, you've already filled with poly

part number: energy suspension 7.1105g

i have nismo stabilizers and i pulled out the soft squishy rubber bushings and put in poly , have had them for a few years without issue.

just the es poly bushes need to be ground down a little bit on the sides as they're oval.

The big triangular bracket should be mounted to the transfer box and the stabiliser mount comes off that.
Front is normally a thinner motel holder and the rear holder is made of heavy gauge plastic and is thicker but they are both interchangeable.

You don't need anything more than filling the voids with silicone that is more than adequate without causing any vibration issues

thanks for the advice guys Smile

Thats what i did with the front one i got of you couple of weeks ago bob, i had a tub of Poly thats used to seal bus windows etc which did the job perfectly but i still had the rattle, vibration and shaking when turning the engine off so investigated further to find out im missing the rear stabiliser and the stabiliser bracket.

have you got any of these brackets in stock by any chance? Wink

if the one of the front fits and is okay to use then im fine but if its really necessary to have the one off the back on there then ill need one. How much for the bracket and mount Bob? Wink

pic of my mount
Rear engine mount/stabiliser IMG_1980b

part # energy suspension 7.1105g From Sentra/NX or Prothane 14-503 Sentra

no excessive vibration, holds the engine extremely well without any of the vibration of stiffening up the other mounts
have had this on my car since 2009

Is that just the front part of the mount ? Or the rear circle part aswell

20Rear engine mount/stabiliser Empty Re: Rear engine mount/stabiliser 20th December 2014, 5:28 pm

gtirnick

should include both, but the smaller circle one isnt required kuz its already solid, unless u press it out for poly

http://www.amazon.ca/Energy-Suspension-7-1105G-Insert-Nissan/dp/B000CNB33S

the above are just links to what they look like, you can find them for like half that price if you search around

the energy suspension ones have little window cutouts i guess for vibration, i have the prothane ones which are solid. i have no vibration passed back into the chassis
