Engine is nearly ready to drop out but wondering whats the best way people have found to secure engine to the crane ?

Has anyone made a hoist bracket?

Gtirchris

You could drop the engine and box onto a skate as one then put a thick peice of timber across the chassis rails behind the front anti roll bar and jack the car up and wheel the engine out from underneath, i've done it that way before and it worked ok, as for lifting the engine off of the skate afterwards, I got some lifting eyes off of a Toyota corolla in the scrapyard and bolted them onto the head, can't remember where though.

I just rope around plenum under box and around mount on other side then take weight undo bolts through mounts lower engine onto a board or low trolly then lift car over engine and slide it in the thick ply. Seen a hook onto head near left front of head once across the two bolt holes

Ps the plenum rope is back through but not taking weight just stops it tipping to far back

easier not using a crane, just use a big jack and big lump of 3x3spanning underside behind front arb

Easy peasy. Just lift the car as above, engine is balanced enough to sit on its own. Laughing

I normally just drop engines on pallet or couple of old wheels
