We have just been having a quick look through the forum and made a couple of changes in order for us to firstly:
easily identify ip addresses which is very handy for admin and mods.
We have also added some things to the bottom of your profile's under your avatar
One of these being a rep rating.
you can now award a plus or minus reputation score to any member by going to the right hand side of a post they have recently made where you will see a + or - sign, click on the + and a positive reputation point will be offered to that person which is displayed under their avatar
The bad reputation is indicated by a - sign which applies to a member if you click on the minus sign where a rep point will be removed from that members status
So for example if you see someone either:
Post what you believe to be a helpful Topic, Thread, Post in order to help others, and is in general very helpful to you and others
Gone out of their way to help you out giving their own time
Sold you parts, car or any item that your extremely happy with
Enjoyed an event organised by this person that you believe to have been very good
These are some good reasons to award a positive rep
Or alternatively the opposite also applies:
Generally being non helpful with continuous sarcastic remarks to various posts by various members
Never getting back to you if you have contacted them regarding an issue you may have
Sold you something that you have either not received or is very poor and not as described
Timewaster saying they will purchase or do something that they then back out of without due cause or reason in turn costing you money and hours of wasted time
These are some fair reasons to give them a minus rep
This system should hopefully be a good indicator as to whom people wish to deal with regarding items they may be selling or buying and the general character of that particular person so please think carefully before you award or detract from the individual.
If there are tit for tat problems, personal feuds or you are truly unhappy regarding the way you have been treated by any member then please contact either:
Myself, Admin or a Moderator and we will collectively try resolve the issue
Remember guys & gals this is your forum and we want it to run as smoothly as possible with people being comfortable to whom they are dealing with which is why we have introduced this rep system so baring this in mind PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE IT
I will also ask admin to temporarily drop the 100 post count to 50 so people can then sell parts, cars, etc
The member must have at least a zero rating! anybody with a minus rep will not be allowed to sell anything even if their post count is high until admin have looked into their bad rep status, in fact Admin may look into any member/s with a poor rep and want to know why their score is so low with their decision being final.
We will review the rep status in a months time to see how its all working out
oh and btw no you cant add to your own score
