Not to do with suspension but a very handy technique especially for a gtir that's notorious for understeer
And trust me on this 'it does work' Wink

Look under Michael krumms recent 7.08 nor urging lap in gtr, the posts underneath explain left foot and trail braking
Take a tip though and don't be practicing this on a busy road as will end in tears lol

Its not that easy at first as you tend to hit the brake to hard and end up peeling your face off the windscreen Laughing

if ur feeling strong, u can disconnect the vacuum to the brake booster

i took a rally driving class in tanner foust's rally car once, pretty enlightening.
you left foot through everything and steer the rear of the car with the left foot in a rally car
there's no brake booster connected, u literally had to stand on the brake to make it stop, was fun.

anyways racing on an autox course i still find using my right foot optimal for doing the majority of braking and i use the left foot midcorner to correct when on throttle, so i dont have to lift and keep my boost up

i also kart, so its a bit more natural for me, i still find i dont have the sensitivity to do anything but minor corrections with the left foot

minor corrections is all that's really needed tbh
as you say it keeps the power up but main reason is to add extra grip to front wheels when she starts to understeer and that brings the front back in line with the car still on power still

if you think about the theory side of it its relatively simple
when your on power apexing a corner the rear will squat and so put less weight over the front which causes the tyre to lose grip and understeer
by left foot braking your transferring the weight back to the front of the car and giving front tyres more grip again.

with rwd its the complete opposite, if you lift off the loud pedal if rear starts to lose grip you will make things worse as the weight is then taken off the rear wheels and you will have even less grip

As a teenager I use to practice in the work transit. As Bob said 1st time you go through the window but after that it's really easy and as soon as you've got the pressure sorted it stays with you forever,
