Water In Spark Plug

Any ideas what could have caused this.

Was going along fine, hand in for wee mini service a couple of weeks ago and running squiffy since and lost boost on Wednesday night, finally got a look at it and theres water in two plug holes?

Guy thinks weather elements which I cant see or from the head, any thoughts?

in the plug well around the plug !
Is quite common get water in here from bonnet vents from driving in heavy rain, parking car uphill & washing it enthusiastically with hose pipe & the likes.
if signs of water in the cylinders & obvious signs of loss of coolant then different ball game all together.
Sounds like just water got onto rocker cover from way you worded your post so should be minimal repair, if two cylinders missing mainly then it going run real bad with low power, also possible upset other things with rough running such as a weak/loose crank vent pipe/valve or similar.
Just needs good check over & new or dry leads/plugs hopefully.

Apparently its just on the outside as opposed to inside so reckoning maybe just water getting in thru vents. Drove home from garage and went fine when warmed up and boosted ok.

Bit annoying tho as it was fine before they done the service. If there was water in it then why didnt they see it? If there wasnt then have they replaced the leads properly after service. Somethings not right imo

Maybe they left it outside or got it smootherd in crap and washed it ...

Could of been bit careless filling washer or coolant & spilt some water on rocker.
Certainly annoying but be thankful not requiring any money to resolve :-)

Yeh I never had an issue yet with water on plugs but does happen, is obviously worse with top mount gone as yo also loose the alloy seal plate & water drain.

If your plug wells are prone to filling up with water in rain or during washing it could easily cause a misfire, just bear that in mind if you get a misfire in the future, I have had this before, even with a top mount.

Make sure the leads are pushed all the way down so that it creates a seal around the rocker cover to minimize water entry.

full length plug cover with a seal will help prevent this

Think we discussed this in another thread somwhere johnny ..... im going to make myself one shortly will use either silicone or draught excluder style to keep it water tight .....

Just looking at leads, whats up with the 70mm, 75mm, 80mm and 85mm. Whats the difference?

thickness of leads, better insulation & core so can handle more voltage of modified ignition systems on very high boost cars.
If standard ignition parts the standard nissan leads in good order are fine.
If replacing as old & find Nissan expensive or long wait, be careful what u buy as lead quality can be awful even with good manufacturer names.
Blueprint leads are awful
Magnacor are ok but well overpriced
Leads in link below are a good affordable option & fit real good. have also used these on quite a few subaru Legacy's & Foresters & they have lasted well & seem good value leads.
