Gearbox company will drive your car & tell you the problem

Just rang a well respected gearbox company near me called "Tameside transmissions" to get a quote on rebuilding my gearbox... I told him it was a GTiR gearbox & what the problem was & his reply was... WOW a Pulsar GTiR. I would need to drive the car so he could try & diagnose the fault! LMFAO...
Nice try! How about ill get the box off & bring it to you to strip it & inspect it... CLOWNS!

What if I had no gearbox atall... How would you drive it then, Lmao

Lol sounds like he really fancied ago of it gaz .... surely just specialising in just transmission .... you would know the possibilities of say a 1st gear crunch etc as a rough guide ...

+1 johnny hhahaa ! what a guy he is, hate garages like that, they get a rare motor in or something thats been tuned and looked after and they take it for a spin .... "just to make sure its ok" abusing insurance to the max, i used to work at honda and id end up taking the new cars down to the fuel station to put a tank in for the customer, and i wouldnt dare drive them fast at all, yet a mate of mine works at an audi garage and then had a new GTR as a trade in for some bland german barge, and he took it for a spin and got sacked for it

hence valeters map on my ecu. only time my car goes near a garage is for a mot but if they did ask I would say take it out go as fast as you like red line it please

Maybe you should ring up again gaz speak to the man in charge an ask is it common practice to take customers cars out for a spin to diagnose problems when you can tell them what its doing ...

I phoned a place round here and he asked me not to just remove the rear diff so he could come out with me and hear the problem for himself prior to removal. But he made it clear he was coming along as passenger and not just ragging the arse out of it
