standard rods max bhp

Just out of interest, what roughly would people say is the maximum bhp you could push the standard con rods to on a pulsar? and safely?

top of my head its 500 I think. sure someone was running 520. I could be way out

doubt it don't belive Nissan about everything neither some of there specs etc have been proven wrong massivly

You can run more than 500hp with them as I know of 3cars that we're running over that with no problems.

It's not Bho that kills rods it's the torque figure and high rpm if you can cap the torque then you won't have a problem providing they are in good condition with arp bolts fitted

I've yet to see a bent rod on a gtir even with some that have gone through the block where shells have spun and bolts let go

That's impressive stuff, what about standard bolts? I take it you wouldn't go past 500 then! I know Iv only just had it mapped but this power thing is like a drug and I can't get enough of it! I just want more! I'm still taking your advice bob and leaving it as it is for now but I am deffo gonna be slowly buying the parts as and when I can to go for more power! I blew some pretty expensive high powered cars out this weekend and loved it! Especially the prick in the m sport 5 series bmw who said not bad for a £500 car the wanker! He soon saw the back end of my car as he tried to blow me off the lights

I would fit arp bolts to rods on any rebuild tbh despite whatever power it's running, not worth risking it for a few quid

It wasn't an m5, it was a 5 series with all the m badges, 3.5 litre twin turbo

Just remember chasing hp can get expensive

Yes I'm deffo leaving it as it is for at least this summer/year. But if I have to put my hand in my pocket for an expensive gearbox then so be it! I'm a bhp addict and I'm hooked

hope you washed it first as you could damage paintwork doing that
