Was fitted to my evo .   Made it so quiet

APEXI ECV
The ECV was created as an alternative to the standard silencer typically fitted in the tip of performance exhaust systems to lower the sound output. The ECV (Exhaust Control Valve) is a spring loaded butterfly valve that can be installed to the main piping of an existing exhaust system. The angle of the valve can be modified on the fly from within the cockpit to provide complete control over exhaust decibel output.

Surely thats just not allowing pressure out of the exhaust to silence it or make it quieter i would imagine on the long term you would be better to just fit a proper silencer to it ????

For drive ways   etc it's perfect .

You wouldn't run with it shut at much more than idle . But you can adjust flap so partially open at low speeds

Do the job properly i have one of those fitted for static noise tests and to get in and out my estate etc late at night or if i need to be respetcfull somewhere.i also have a bolt on db killer which i will get mapped in for drive by and my exhaust exits just infront of rear wheel sounds great and is no more noisy than my goose was it has one big retinator style box and small silencer box very very free flowing and suitible for all conditions with no work at all. Altho i will map the db killer in on one of the maps if it really changes it and needs it. I would disagree that any rear exit exhaust would flow as good as i have had several turbo set ups on many systems on two differen cars and the noticeable difference to how fast it comes onto boost and free reving through out the rev range is massive
