Ladies and gents,

As few of you know I am rebuilding my R.

Previously the car had:

750 cc Denso injectors at standard fuel pressure
3071r 0.86 ar turbo
chinese manifold (autobahn)
front mount intercooler
3'' full exhaust

So.......my tuner struggled to make full boost earlier but it couldn't make it better that 5000 RPM
I am thinking that this is caused by the manifold which is an chinese big shit.....but anyway it's in the garbage now because it's cracked and I will build myself a new manifold Very Happy:D:D:D:D:D (top mount:)))) )

Please give me some hints on this!!!!!!

Should I buy some cams also???

An exhaust cam would help a bit.

This is my old manifold.

Mate change the 86 to a 64 housing .. Give you a better spool up even so you should be coming on full boost at 3800 or less I'm running a precision 6262 and coming on full boost by 3500 .. Cams will give you better mid range .. what head work have you had done ?

Get head work done mate it will give you better mpg and spool up

Mmmmmmm, V-band clamps……………. They make everything soooooo much easier Cool

Bogdan, what will you be using the car for? If it's sprints/hillclimbs/rallying then anti-lag would work if you're wanting to keep the big flowing potential of the 0.86 housing. Otherwise the 0.64 would give a much quicker spool time combined with some better mid-range cams (as already said).

Cheers,
Dave

Agreed and fit at least an exhaust cam, I doubt if the manifold is really holding you back unless it has very small primaries.

I would all go down to a 64 housing as well bigger isn't always better.

All depends what you're after mate, What are you trying to achieve ?.

My new engine is having a ported head five angle seats HKS 264 exhaust cam and a GTX billet 2863 turbo sitting on a ported standard manifold I doubt if I'll have any lag to speak of.

Will my standard rods take let's say 450 BHP???

it could be your manifold being cracked was the problem bogdan as your losing spool on the ex side.
any blow will give pressure losses before the turbo which will obviously result in poor spool up

Why do you choose a standard ported manifold?

True. I had a blown manifold gasket and my standard turbo didn't make boost until 4000 RPM. It also sounded like one of those things kids used to put on their bicycles that clicked as the spokes passed by (ffftp, ffftp, ffftp…..), but that was probably just the gasket flapping about. But a cracked manifold will have the same effect.

Dave

Because I will only be going for a max 380 bhp this time and I want my car to look as standard as possible, So a ported ceramic coated standard manifold is perfect mate, I wont have any cracking issues to worry about and it's stronger and more compact than a stainless manifold.

I will also being using top mount/standard air box and battery box.

Stealth is the key with this one lol

the gt3071 is smaller then the 6262 the similar turbo to the 6262 is the gt35r and will produce around 700+
