Any ideas why it woul stutter in 3rd from low revs up till 4th?

Long story short I live in the middle of know where an a chap has turned up at mine asking if I can fix it for him.

Random I know but I pal sent him to me as I used to have one with a stutter but sorted it with new plugs

Anyway this motor is his pride and joy an after talking to him it turns out it's not his only toy along with a herald and an E type jag. You can see that he looks after his cars as this Subaru is amazing for 20 years old.

The norms have been changed but I will have a look at these tomorrow when he runs it back up here.

Any ideas what it could be? Or are we thinking the garage he goes to haven't changed the plugs?

Not put a silly size air filter on? as my neighbour bought a Subaru and had that problem and a standard filter helped. Then a cleaning of the maf seemed to solve it. Smile

Cheers Paul I will have a look an see if it's clean the car is 100% standard so the filter could well be an old one.

Better believe it Leighton.

Wouldn't like to say as the garage is a Subaru specialist but what I will say is they rebuilt an engine for my old Subaru an there was a major oil leak when I fitted it in the car (left a bolt lose on the block)

So make your own mind up lol.
