Is there any way to boost my oil pressure, im sitting at 1.3bar just now and noticed when i pulled up to park on a slight hill that it slightly dropped to 1.1bar, dont know if im just being over paranoid or not

there is a way to boost it by altering the preload on the spring in the oil pump pressure relief valve but youll need to remove the complete oil pump to do that.

just make sure your sumps not dented in slightly as this will affect oil pressure considerably.
if its ok as long as oil pressure rises when rpm is increased i would not worry about it tbh.

the gauges and sensores are not accurate on a gtir, the only true way to determine oil pressure is by fitting an aftermarket mechanical gauge as these do not lie

thanks bob, ive got prosport gauges in the car just now not sure if they are mechanical or not though, yeah pressure is fine when driving, usually sits around 3.6bar when driving normal then shoots up to 7bar when foot to the floor,

i did have a dent in the sump but i bashed it out and no change to the pressure, its running 10w40 castrol gtx at the moment as thats all i could get when it was an emergency, will 10w50 silkolene pro s make much difference to the pressure when i do a change next week?

yes it will certainly improve the pressure slightly as it has a wider viscosity rating
so in laymans terms it works better when the engine is hot as it wont thin down quite as much as 10/40 grade
on track its essential to run 10w/50 or better still 10w/60 grade
