my car has been in getting the fueling checked and a dozen other problems i didnt know about fixed and he sent me a text today saying that the crank pulley bolt came loose and it fell off on him he then asked if it was the right pulley as the timing marks were off, anyone know anything if other pulleys fit our cars and this may have been replaced, i may need to get a new one so is there any advantage to a lighter one or aftermarket?

sounds like the outer rim has slipped round on the rubber, had that on my engine this summer, went to time it and the marks where completely off, had another pulley off bob. Smile

also been told by a few owners that the alloy ones are no good as theres too much vibration :/ which is why nissan oem have a rubber bush.

OEM harmonic damper pulley is best, besides fact it dampens harmonics it also has no issues with oils seal like the alloy pulleys.
