I tried to set up a group-buy on the modifiers site years ago for the AM Performance elbows. Unfortunately the exchange rate (AUD to GBP) and the seemingly randomness of UK customs made it fall at the first hurdle. However, i still do have loads of high-resolution pictures of them (both screamer and non-screamer versions) so I'll put those here tomorrow if that's ok with you Bogdan? If not I can add them to another part of this site.

Cheers,
Dave

very nice Leighton Cool
if you don't mind me asking, how much was that and what thickness will it weld to?

Yeah sure bob ..... it was £381 direct from sip it is a dc tig/arc welder P208hf  so its a 200amp inverter welder .so can weld  upto 30mm thick plate .... reasons for buying this machine is its got a high duty cycle tig @200amps 60% and arc @180amps 60% i would of liked a ac/dc tig welder but couldnt justify blowing 700 quid for one . I have a link if your intrested bob direct buys from sip otherwise you pay atleast 150 squid more elsewhere .

Bogdan,

Please don't take any of this personally. We are all well-aware that even a chocolate turbo elbow would be an improvement over the standard GTiR item. I think most people are just keen to have the bend radius as smooth (and therefore as free flowing) as possible. As we all know, the time required to plan, cut, fabricate, and weld (beautiful welding by the way!) these elbows together is not insignificant. As a result, they are not cheap. Since we want these to by a one-time purchase, we are very keen on the longevity and flow characteristics so we never have to replace them.

Don't take anything personal, as if you can converge to an ideal solution, then you'll have a LOT of customers................

really nice work you done on this elbow Bogdan! impressive welding and good material use.
for sure the angle is not perfectly efficient in flowing, but a modification cutting the angle will be better i think...

best way to be sure of that would be by measuring the flow using a flow bench and to compare with the genuine gtir elbow....

Ok Guys.....enough is enough.....Smile)))))))

I will cut this part and make a modification so this part will be round....happy or not?

I'm sure the people wanting elbow will be more than happy if you can manage to radius the bend a bit more Bogdan, We're only trying to be constructive with our comments we don't want to upset someone as talented as you're with a welder buddy, We need these kinds of parts made so please just take the comments in the spirit they where made Wink .

yes think that will be much better with a gradual curve as opposed to a point.
just needs that smoothing out slightly so the gases flow easier rather than the risk of a build up under high boost and then possibly slowing down turbo spool

the one in the top right pic looks to be a better curve than the one on the left or maybe its just the angle pic was taken
great welding though!

Thanks....they are identical....the only difference is the angle:)))))))))))....anyways...stay tuned for the upcoming revision of the elbow.

In the future I am planning on making a full elbow + downpipe like CES Racing Aus is making....But Bob I will need your help as I don't have any downpipes so that I can make a jig....and my engine is still on a stand:(

yes the angle on the one on the right is much better as it seems more free flowing

later this week I will post up a pic of the one I made (don't laugh at welding though lol) is a good idea what I did with dp and maybe you can make something similar but to a better quality than me..............well im positive you could

What I actually need from you Bob is an downpipe.....because I have a cast elbow.....of course I will pay for it:))))
