ELBOW MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
What’s inside the package:
-Stock location GTIR turbo elbow
-Allen bolts (5 Pcs)
-3 bolts & 3 nuts for the 3 bolt flange that connects the elbow to the downpipe
NOTE:
-Take thinner based solvent or any regular solvent and thoroughly clean the elbow because it was slightly greased so that the mild steel flanges will not rust.
-Please note that the surfaces of the flanges are machined flat for correct fitment. The elbow is verified before sending for correct fitment of all bolts.
-For all bolts I highly recommend the usage of copper based grease or graphite based grease (picture for info)that will ensure that the thread will not get rusty during the operation of the car and you will be able to dismantle the elbow without any hassle in due time.
1.
-For correct tightness of the turbo / elbow / downpipe system I highly recommend the usage of both gasket + temperature resistant silicone (picture for info)
INSTALLING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Dismantle the Turbocharger from the engine
2. Take the 1’st 2 allen bolts that have are slightly tapered and with the elbow at a distance from the turbocharger start tightening them by hand or with the supplied allen wrench (also please ensure that the gasket + silicone sealant are in position)
3. Tighten them by hand or with the supplied allen wrench until the two surfaces mate
4. Take the rest of the remaining bolts and slightly tighten them until the two surfaces mate (don’t over torque them yet….just a slight tightening is sufficient)
5. After all the bolts are slightly tightened take allen wrench and start the final tightening on each bolt at a time.
6. Install the turbo + elbow back on the car
7. Start the engine and let it run at idle until the engine is at correct temperature
