So I think I'm doing to need a DB killer for track use, static on tick over my new system is 116db that was recorded on my phone so not sure how accurate it is, but it's loud lol

It didn't seem that loud when first fitted but now it's been on a few days it seems louder maybe the silencer bedded in or something

Maybe it's all the flames it kicks out lol

Anyone suggest a good DB killer or should I just get an eBay one?

maybe heatwrapping your whole exhaust will quieten it down a little and give a few extra ponies

wrapping it wont quieten it down, you only option will be a db killer or bung they sell the bungs on ebay tell them what you want and they make it to measure or there is a few places in notts that can make one for you mate Wink

Cheers buddy I didn't wrap it to quiet it down was just to soak some heat up,

Will try a bung if I can get it to around 98db with a bung should get on most tracks

I dont think paul has that option as they are a two bolt flange fitting  .

Cheers guys there's a few different ones on fleebay so will ask them if they know roughly how much they will cut noise and go from there

24DB Killer Empty Re: DB Killer 26th June 2013, 10:06 am

r called jay

Be very careful as db killers are not recommended for turbo cars as they put back pressure on turbo oil seals and cause turbo failures.
I know from experience with a dead 3071 after using a restrictive db killer at bedford last year Crying or Very sad

Thanks for the heads up, might try a bung then, might take it out once on the track and just hope there's no metres beside the track
