SIR GTI-R

SIR GTI-R

Man I haven't posted in a Forum in donkeys ball age

so ive had a brake for working on the R but miss the thrill so bad
tho the rears are not sticky as far as im aware
Anyways the dust boot at the end of the piston has been ripped as long as I remember

is it worth attempting disassembly and reassembly at home  beating a dead horse  or better left to a Pro?

Easy enough to do with basic tools, you can buy rebuild kits in eBay, also get narrow wire brush attachments for your drill or dremel to clean the sidewalls once piston is out and a nice lick of paint before reassembly job done

If you remove the pads and place a bit of wood on the calipers, then press the brake pedal, you can push the poison out enough to clean the piston, lube it and replace the seal.
Or send to bigg Red ltd whole refurb the pair for about £250
