Check the power from the sensor and gauges.
I have found in the past that the 'diode' on the pcb in the speedo dies and just needs replacing.

The actual unit that goes into the box has come apart.

Interested to know how much they are making these days sure it used to be £50 but that was a long time ago so will have gone up. I have one hence asking but as above bob should be able to sort you
