Hi I am struggling with my car it's got bad flat spots through the Rev range and back fires occasionly and doesn't make power until about 4k I would like to renew all the vac line pipe work as it's not the best. I have just replaced my gearbox as I bought the car needing one and I am concerned I have pipes wrong can anyone help with that a diagram? Can some pipe work be deleted? Also can I remove the standerd recirc valve and pipework. I have serviced car and I am buying some plugs leads and cap this week but any suggestions would be great I have no engine lights on at all and it ticks over fine. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the help both of you the diagrams are just what I needed. So the one bar loop mod I herd people mention is just joining the two pipes together that go to boost solenoid. Basically doing away with the solenoid altogether? And there's no issue with getting rid of recirc and pipework obviously blocking the manifold pipe off? Really grateful of help

you might have another problem here other than the vac lines. have you done a ecu fault code check? and I would also check the timing as it could be retarded if you can do that?

Chris shrewsbury

Yea I can check the timeing. I am just suggesting vac lines as a possibility as I have removed them to do gearbox. And I have never run the car before. Stu just sent me the link on how to do an Ecu check so I will do that also

No you keep the solieniod in place you also need to check you have the restrictor pipe (greenband) or you wont make a bar ....

I think you need to loop the solenoid pipes together
