Hi all there is blue smoke on start up when the engine is cold, after a couple of minutes it goes.
There is no smoke on start up when engine is warm or when driving the car. Could it be the tubby?

Possible valve stem seals? If there knackered oil drips down the valves into the cylinder and collects and burns on start up?

I wouldnt like to comment on possible cause as it could be a couple of things ... as for stems .... its either head off job or you can pack the bores out with string and do it ... either way its not a great job ...

^ if betting I would go with partypete.
Good idea do a compression test too so can rule out bore/rings.
Valves seals are cheap & using the rope in bore trick works but it a fair bit of fannying about .
Checking engine breathing system would be good too just to be sure all working as should be.

First thing is compression test & build more evidence towards valve seals. Check breather system & intake/intercooler for excessive oil residue.
You can run with it for a while if it only minor. Long term it not good as will increase carbon build up in cylinder & start causing more problems ...
