I will have to end up getting a quaife gearbox soon as the power that the car will have i would rather get my gearbox done before I even blow the current one up,
Better to buy the gears and get someone to fit them for me or to just buy a second hand one ?

Like anything second hand, if you can find one in good nick there is money to be saved. If the condition can't be verified get it inspected by a gearbox shop to make sure everything is in working order.

I brought a second hand PPG gearset/ box and got stuck with having to make $1200 worth of repairs Sad lesson learnt

Ok I understand, just hard finding a second hand one though and espically from someone you can trust

PPG is an Australian owned company, that make straight cut gearsets etc for R's. I just meant I brought the gearset already installed in a box Smile

Been awhile since I've looked but almost positive they aren't cheaper. Last I heard prices had skyrocketed

Just had a look, £2145 I found a set for, on eBay they £2800, ridiculous lol, would be nice if they did it cheaper somewhere but I suppose you pay for quality

Quaife gearsets are cheaper& you may have to pay import taxes for for PPG gearsets as coming from Austrailia.

Quaife is quieter too as semi helical as think most PPG sets are straight cut.

Well PPG gearsets are apparently in excess of $8000aus Laughing

Another brand closer to the price range of quaife would be PAR

Ah ok suppose your right about the extra charges so yeah would end up cheaper with quaife, should be running over 400bhp

Yeah I do need one problem is just getting hold off like over 2k lol, I got offered one for 2.4k but not got that money handy
