F1 2013

Anybody a Formula one enthusiast or gonna be watching it this season? I ask i was thinking of doing a fantasy league on here this year as its free and a good laugh. If anybody is interested let me know.

I don't understand all this fantasy league stuff

Im a f1 fan, I'm up for a bash.

Me either bob guess im not really into sport like football think thats where the fantasy thing come from . Explain it for us thicko's then

i will third that most sports but football is a joke these days

Put basically, you are given a set amount to spend; last year it was 90million. You then pick 2 drivers, a team and an engine without going over budget. There are other rules such as you cant pick both drivers in one team etc... If people are interested, when the new fantasy game starts in the next week or so then ill post the address and set up a league for us chaps. On there it will explin in detail the rules and how to start a team. Its not complicated otherwise simple me wouldnt be able to work it

Do you have to watch the races etc just dont normaly get to much time to watch stuff like that through the day ?

No Bob, you spend about 10 mins picking a team and enter it our league and thats it. The fantasy website adds up up the scores and puts it into a chart for all to see. I run one at work and do it for fun and a bit of competition between workmates.
No Leighton you dont have to watch the races, the guy that won it last year doesnt even follow F1 and he won £50

Admittedly i charge £2 a team or 3 for a fiver at work and the top 3 win the money but wouldnt be worth doing on here as it would be a pain getting the funds in unless we could get a fair amount of teams; 20+. Last years work game got 68 teams which amounted to:
1. £50
2. £25
3. £15
and £10 for closest final race time which is used to seperate people if they pick the same team.

You could always do it through pay pal pete probably the easiest way of doing it for funds ?

Yeah that is a possibility if we get enough interest...

tell you what to make it a bit more enticing....il give whoever wins it a £100 voucher for parts too so if by chance I win then second place gets the £100 voucher and il obviously put in a few quid on paypal or whatever

if you want to make it a bit bigger to boost the prize money then why not advertise it on gtiroc too

Thats very kind of you Bob, will add you and yeah ill ask on the oc even though there was no interest last year. Might change if they know they can win money as well as your voucher.

Its bad news im afraid fellas The guy running the site i normally use has cancelled due to legal reasons? I know many like myself were really looking forward to this and ive looked at other sites but they are more complicated and its a bit late to be sorting teams now.
Hopefully we can still have a bit of banter on here after each race
