Newbe

Hello All,
New to the Forum and i have recently bought a 91 GTIR but i am not too well up on them.
Generally it is very good and the engine is sweet, apart from the fact that it pulls great up to 5.5k and then dies off and doesnt rev cleanly above it.
Also we are up near Manchester, does anyone know of any decent tuner in the North West that knows the GTIR.
Very grateful for any feedback and i look forward getting to know these awesome cars a lot better.

What plugs you running ? Plug gap ? Any spec ?

The car hasnt been run in ages,i will pull the plugs and clean the filter next weekend and go from there.

Hello Johnny,
I pulled the plugs and they are clean with 0.8mm gaps.
Air filter is a nasty aftermarket cone type cheap looking but doesnt seem to be that dirty.
One of the hoses to the intercooler has zippy clips rather than jubilee clip so i will sort that but i dont think it is leaking there anyway.
New rear exhaust box needed,i think its standard has a two bolt flange as it passes through the rear subframe.

How longs it been sat for?
I'd change the oil and fuel filter if it's been sat long.
Have you checked to see if its throwing a fault code up mate.
I would check the timing aswell if you've got a timing gun.
I messaged you back aswell mate. Yeh I'm only in stockport and my pals pretty good with pulsars so if you get stuck give me a shout

For your exhaust aswell mate. I'm selling a 2.5inch mongoose exhaust in the next week or so if your interested. Straight through full stainless Jobby.

Yes TDI North i would say is your best bet fella if your upt north
They never used to be too bad with tuning but not sure what their works like nowadays
