Want to upgrade the rear brakes on my R

I've got will wood 310mm on the front

Wanted to get some grooved discs and grippy pads .

I can get yellow stuff for about £48 plus vat but can't find any decent discs.

Has anyone ever bought the discs from eBay ( evora )

I used to run yellow stuff pads on the front of my last R and hated them. They were downright dangerous when cold, fine for a little bit when hot and then quickly started to fade. Unless its a track car i seriously doubt you'd get enough heat into the rears to make them work properly. Could you not get mintex 1144's instead? Much better pads IMO.
Again unless its a track car i would only use plain discs on the back. Much cheaper option too! Very Happy

What about "predator" pads for the rear? Ive had them on the front of my car for the past year (evo/clio brake upgrade) and they've been superb. Good cold bite, discs and pads wearing very well and they've not faded once yet Smile

I would go 278mm maxima discs and caliper bracket, just buy good quality discs and get them slotted .
carbotech xp8's front and rear is what i'd use for road/light track (xp10 for track car). Nothing comes close ...
Not cheapest pads but last almost twice as long as most pads in hard use and braking improvement is worth the price even if didn't last well .

What Maxima model/year setup would you use Mr B?
Been contemplating something like this for a while too...

Apparently Mtec brakes can supply discs and also offer a PCD re-drilling service too:
https://www.mtecbrakes.com/pcd-change.html
They even list Maxima discs but not sure they're the correct variant. It wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility to get the correct discs from them with 4x100 holes instead of the 5x??? PCD they'd normally come with

These 2 threads linked below should cover it for you.

Have a look at primera and almera for uk/eu with 278mm rear discs as likely have right brackets also .
pcd redrilling service handy via that mtec could be handy if no local friendly service .
Is a cheap disc upgrade and compliments a front conversion plus looks better under the rims .

ROB_IOW, have you checked into RDA7696D? Dimpled and slotted rear rotor. It's an EBC product. Got them on mine. Shipping was pricey from Australia to Canada though. You might have to do a little searching unless you want to go the ebay route. I think the place I got them from is closed (onautos)

I've got some 280mm hi spec ones coming from Bob

Ricks1983

There is a place I deliver to in Banbury called performance carbon friction, they do some decent pads so might be worth giving them a try

I've got the 12 groove black diamond rear discs and predator pads on mine. I'd say I noticed a difference and I'm still on standard fronts Twisted Evil

Not that ive looked lately but there wasn't alot of options for discs, I ended up with standard ones. Such as simple and easy conversion though.

I am currently running A32 Maxima Caliper brackets, with B15 Sentra SE-R rear discs from a car with the factory Brembo brakes option. They are 4x114.3, and you must redrill to 4x100, only takes 10 minutes.

This setup is a complete bolt on and gives you a much bigger rotor that still fits under 15" wheels, and you can still use the GTi-R rear brake pads. It may be a bit difficult for you guys in the UK to get the USDM Sentra rotors though. Rock auto will deliver international if you ask. Here's the link to what you need.

These are the caliper brackets that can be had from Rockauto.com for $16.48 each, and they're interchangable between left and right, just order 2.
http://www.cardone.com/Products/Product-Detail?productId=141506&p=rock&jsn=391&jsn=391

and here are the rotors you need that must be redrilled.

Rock auto has several different brands and types to chose from, depending on how much money you want to spend, these are just the cheapest ones I found. Just make sure to get the ones that say "With Brembo brake package"

UK link to rear discs:
https://www.mtecbrakes.com/brake-discs/nissan/maxima-qx-00-02/maxima-qx-3-0-v6-ca33-10-00-12-02.html

They would seem to be the same dimensions as the link you posted Ryan. Looking at your link for the brackets and these ^^^ discs you could upgrade the rears for about £110!?!

I think i'll be doing this when I need to replace things at the back end Very Happy

Yes sir, it's very cheap, and it works very well. We had no choice in North America but to come up with this kit, as we cannot get factory GTi-R rear discs, there's no US market equivalent, the rear rotors are unique to RNN14.

I ended up using rather expensive StopTech rear rotors, because I wanted slotted ones, but it's not necessary.

The maxima rear discs should work too, but I'm not sure if the hat depth is the same as the B15 SE-R is.

Also, as a side note, P10 Primera rear calipers will fit as well, but you have to order the side OPPOSITE as the one you actually need, or you'll end up with an upside down caliper.

Just had another look on that Mtec website...these discs should bolt straight on without any mods at all and are even cheaper  Very Happy

https://www.mtecbrakes.com/brake-discs/nissan/primera-estate-90-02/primera-estate-2-0td-wp11e-01-98-03-02.html

Just been looking on t'interweb again. The standard height of the GTIR disc is 33mm but the ones above are all 45mm. Won't they hit the hub or dust shield being 12mm more in-board?
I seem to recall going through this years ago when I was sent sunny GTI discs rather than GTIR ones...

Don't think so mate, all Primeras are 4x114.3, unless the Estate is by itself as 4x100
