Run Abouts

So we ain't all using the R as a daily, so what are you running about in when the R is off the road or not been used.

I for one have gone through a multitude of shite cars but recently through the crap weather have found a love for my run about, who cares were you park it, does it matter if you scrub an alloy, towing no problem!

Post a pic of your faithful steed and let me know how it's helped you keep your R in top condition or just allowed you to get to work :-)

I have a Vectra for towing the caravan and cheap on parts. Was great in the snow lol and cost a grand

I have a fn2 Honda civic type r .... which I found was totally shit in the snow so parked it up and waited for it all to melt went out In it for the first time in 6days ....

I've got an st202 celica, pretty good in the snow, and fun to drive.

Vauxhall vivaro work van 15 plate and I tell you it’s not a patch on my old 12 plate. It’s as quick but dose not feel it and even with a eco button drinks the fuel

Was looking at getting a vivario but heard they suffer with gearbox problems...

Cool some nice Cara there Johnny surprised about the vivaro would have thought it would be better maybe vauxhall cutting costs?

So my daily is my work van . But if not using that I'll take my baby landcruiser .

Yes indeed they do .

If they've been used for carrying anything heavier than balloons .

Basically the vivaro,  Renault traffic and Nissan primastar  are all the same

When Renault designed them they delved into the vast stock of gearboxes and choose a gearbox from a laguna .

So the laguna gearbox is fine if the van has had an easy life and carried nothing . However if they've been used as intended etc usually boxes last about 60 - 80k

I drive a Hyundai i30. Awesome car, never skips a beat and I blend into every day traffic like every other grandma on the road. It’s also good because I have absolutely no reason to want to mod it lol

i had a diesal merc for last  5 years and just ran it into the ground.
so impulse buy i just got clc 350 v6 juice monster. its killing the wallet but not gonna keep it long

I had a 150 diesel golf for the past 10 years but it was knackered after doing 25,000 miles every year, so got rid and now have an fn2 civic type r as well. Didn't bother trying it in the snow as I was pretty sure it would be shit.

It’s the bearing starve on 6th gear there is a upgrade and box rebuild when clutch goes about 80k ain’t bad price

Think a few suffer the vxr etc

There a good van don’t get me wrong i just like my old one was 1.9 turbo new is 1600 bi turbo so it’s like anything newer they are the more efficient bla bla or suppose to be etc but worse to drive but my new one drinks fuel

Fiesta ST2 is my daily, good on fuel fairly nippy could benefit from the mountune kit and apart from squealing front brakes which I can't solve it's fun to drive.

How do you find it toaster I can't say I am overly impressed with the type r it's ok plenty of gadgets but I don't find it overly quick can be a handlefull in the wet and easy to spin up in most gears but still bores me a bit lol

I like the look of it, gadgets and interior and that I can rev the crap out of it,.It handles good in the dry compared to the golf which was a bit of a boat lol .
I agree with you in the wet it does spin a lot and the traction control can be quite intrusive as a result, could do with an lsd like the later ones. Its not mega fast but I guess we are spoilt with the pulsars grunt. I wasn't expecting a huge difference as I could easily keep up with them on the motorway in the golf.
As a daily its fine and I don't intend on keeping it long time just nothing else on the market I fancied at the time in my price that was big enough with a bit of go.

Thanks mate.
I took the decals off yesterday.
Ended up stripping some of the paint off when I tried to remove the adhesive residue lol

Painted and added a simple decal lol

Your number stood out before when you cut people off
