OK I have done the right thing and searched in the search bar for anything related to this but can't find anything.

Can someone please tell me how do I take the handbrake cable off the caliper, do I just pull the spring in and slide the cable off or do I have to undo some bolts ?

Also with braided lines, what's the best way to stop the brake oil pissing out everywhere if the caliper will be off for about a week ?

Probably gonna send calipers to Biggred for refurb and paint job or may tackle meself !

Thanks in advance.

when I replaced one of my rear calipers recently I undid the bolt that holds the cable guide/support in place and then unhooked the end off of the pawl. dunno if that's the preferred method but it was easy to do it this way Smile

You have to remove the caliper first , as the angle of the cable makes it harder to just unhook , caliper off and its easy to move around
use a small plastic bottle -pipe in bottle and tape it in place- when refitting new caliper , fill the reservoir with fresh fluid and allow it to gravity fill the rear lines - fill the caliper before fitting and this keeps bleeding to a minimum

Being as you can't use a hose clamp on a braided line you need to open the bleed nipple, depress the pedal to the floor and use something to hold it fully down, this will stop it from loosing all of its fluid mate.
