boost gauge

Where do i T in pipe for mechanical boost gauge

I've got mine t piece onto the boost sensor ....

Do u have a pic where is boost sensor

It's located on the right hand side inner wing it comes across and has a single pipe that goes on it underneath ... that's where I have nine plumbed in others may differ

T off the factory boost sensor as already suggested. Getting the pipe through the bulkhead is the fun bit!

Is it ok to leave the stock one hooked up with an aftermarket one

I have mine ... depends where you want to locate it you can obviously replace the stock one or dash mount it or pillar pod .... yeah it's tight I got mine through above the abs pump took a bit of feeding through as run my battery to boot cables .... if you have air con removed you can run it through where the pipes are or used to be on the bulk head

Old trick for pulling wires and small pipes through
Get a bit of stiff wire ( like mig wire or similar)
Poke that through the hole then hook the bit of wire or pipe you want to pull through into the mig wire then pull the mig wire back through then hey presto your bit of wire / pipe comes through with it

I routed mine through the big grommet behind the driver side wheel arch liner. The wires+vacuum tube comes into the cabin just above the throttle pedal which makes it easy to route up the side of the dashboard and then in behind the door rubber at the upper end

It's the right if your standing outside in the engine bay .. I should of just said passenger wing so there was no confusion

Can also take it off a vacuum line on the inlet manifold, and save running longer tube through the engine bay. As mike said the grommet behind the driver side wheel arch is also good when mounting the gauge on the pillar aswell.

Sometimes they read slightly wrong there Woody and they also flutter abit when there mate

I knew where it is but I also call it the right hand side as most stuff in the engine bay you describe standing or kneeling praying from the front looking in with bonnet up

So don't beat yourself up because we can always do that for you mate lol

What I usually do I throw away evap - carbon canister (you don't need it only makes mess) and use one of those pipes going to manifold for gauge and the other one for boost controller (if you've got one).
I absolutely hate when I see 3 t pieces from one 3mm vacc pipe.... Another thing when adding wires etc next to grommet for ecu there is another one for draining water from aircon evaporator, I'm guessing you haven't got your ac anymore you can poke small pipe through there if you want anything bigger (like battery lead when moving battery in to boot) you can actually take glove box out and then there is just few screws holding box with evaporator grind off that little drain thingy which goes in to bulkhead to make bit more room and route pipes wires etc through there....
