Hi all I was just wondering if anybody is running Borg Warner EFR 6758 or similar turbo on standard Pulsar manifold?

I'm wandering if it will clear alternator gearbox etc, or would it need custom manifold...

Hoe big is it ... I've just looked it up as never heard of it before presume it's similar to gt30 from the power it produces .... ? They are still pretty pricey new ...

I don't think it's going to fit. Reason being.

Is not big in diameter but long as you can see on Mr Astarozna picture. From what I've read the turbine design is much better then that found on gtx series, I think Garrett is still using same turbine since T series. This one wouldn't be for me only for project I'll be doing and tbh when you look at gtx series once you'll add turbine housing and actuator it'll end up being more expensive than EFR.
Oh and EFR flows better than GT3071r and it spools up much quicker.
I'm thinking once I'll have too much money to put EFR 7064 on a top mount externally wastegated manifold (maybe even twin scroll) but that's waaaay later.

Here is a bloke running efr7163 on a gtir but i think he is using top mount manifold, There's a thread about efr vs gtx on the web on a subaru. Borg is bit quicker and gives you more top end on a subaru motor but to be seen on sr motors. I was on a lookout for T3 efr7163 0.82 on flebay, found one for a grand witch is good price for it, not to many around cheap/second hand though.

That is a fair bit longer overall ... I guess a trail fit is the only way to find out ....sounds like a top Mount manifold would probably eliminate any clearance issues ... the gt30 is a tight squeeze...

Yeah but that's EFR7670
This is Efr 6258 vs gt2560 so still not 100% accurate...

That actuator bracket looks like bit of a problem too

Judging by the picture there are 2 issues. 1 as you pointed out is the actuator 2 is cold side outlet location and possibly cold sides much larger diameter.

I never realised how different these turbos are. Agreed that the actuator looks an issue for sure.

Why would you want to fork out for a turbo like that only to put it on a Shitty stock manifold.

Well first thing good manifold will cost as much as turbo. I haven't got a tig welder nor can I make manifold. There is nobody within 100 miles who I know could make nice mani. It would be ported quite extensively and here what get confusing some people say that there is not much wrong with ported standard manifold and it sometimes better than cheaper tubular ones. And you can see people all the time making Frankenstein manifolds, welding t3 flanges to it or making in to external wastegates... If it's not possible to fit it with standard mani then either matey will look for something like gtx2871r or thinking about top mount manifold...

I would personally stay standard ported manifold. People use the 500 bhp sort of figure to easyily but 450 plus I would think about it 500 plus yes but I am yet to see a pulsar with a stainless manifold that ain't cracked in fairly short time. I had some from cheap to custom and all failed

You just need to find someone decent to port the manifold for you lol!

If you got a mig welder make a manifold out of steam pipe fittings. it cheap and easier fabricate, far more durable than stainless plus if ceramic coated can look amazing too .
I would imagine not likely fit standard manifold easily or at all . custom manifold for twin scroll BW afr version would be best effort . GTX is easiest solution .

I still can't see me welding a manifold lol!
And it does look like it would ideally want a top mount manifold... Bit of a shame because from what I've read they're very nice turbos. I defo want one on twin scroll top mounted manifold!
