My car passed the mot today Smile

Every year my HC on emissions is really high.
Its at 2611 and it should be 1200 or less.
Mot tester said its un burnt fuel.
I have my dizzy set to 20°
Should I drop it back to 18°

A quick search on google and the site I went on said it was down to  ignition timing.

2611 to me says it's massively over fueling. But I have no idea if it is excessive or not?

The OC reading is really low. Its reading 0.16
Why would that be or what would cause that.
Max the OC should be 3.5 and he said normally cars are 1.5.

Is this not because you're running too rich?

Yeah thats what im asking about Neil.

Its on standard ecu and the hks afr is disconnected. .
Just seeing if I should retard the ignition back to 18° or if it's okay to leave it at 20°

Would like to know what others HC readings are?

HC is result incomplete burning of fuel .
Due to CO being low it not over fueling but more case of not burning fully which could be timing related.
Kind of brings you back to your rough idle and doubts on cam timing being right !

Seems you got doubts on cam timing it best looked at as cures the doubt if nothing else .
I mark all my cam pulleys on rebuild with 2 lines on each which align to a straight edge as the factory setup is messy idea and easy get wrong unless do lot of them.
