I picked up a set of pretty pristine standard alloys off a lad in work who used to own a Sunny GTi-R years ago. When he bought the car he took the wheels off in favour of 16's and stored the orginals in his loft. He forgot they were there until January this year, and he offered them to me for £50, thought why not, had no intention of putting them on my R until he dropped them off last week, and thought sod it lets go factory look!

The tyres obviously need replacing as there 18 odd years old, 3 look in good shape but the other has radial cracking along the tread, so 4 new boots needed. On my current set of 14's I have 2 new Bridgestone Potenzas same as on the standard ones, but then noticed the tyre sizes, on the orginals they are 195 55 R14 where as my ones are 185 60 R14.

Hmmm back to needing 4 then but you cant get 195 55 R14 anymore other than Toyo's £80 a corner Shocked Bridgestone stopped making them in 2001.. From factory they used 195 55 R14's, grrrrr Evil or Very Mad

Can I use 185 60 R14 on them?

I know I always sound awkward but surly if your going down to standard rim even with standard power I would want to run good tread and good tyres sit so much better if it turns wet to disperse water. Ie sitting even 60/70 mph on a main road ie toyo stretch the budget

^ I'm Welsh tighter than you northerners Laughing

Tyres and working brakes always the most important aspect, see your point mate! thumbsup

Cheers Stu, I had no idea how much they were worth in good condition complete with center caps, still don't tbh Laughing i saw a set on eBay a few months ago sold for £52 then got relisted and sold for £51, so based it on that.

Good condition with centre caps are worth good money. Like anything the odd set will go cheap via e bay or with missing centre caps. But as with a lot of standard genuine parts for these and  the age of the car and people restoring them back  to stock. You scored on these I would say half price.

Welsh tighter and stupid and not to mention sheep ha ha lets not go there

Did someone say sheep?

Pishhht I had my 3071r mapped on 1.4 bar with the stock brakes and some cheap nasty tyres it was amazing I will have you know! Not at stopping or cornering but was awsesome at straight lines and wheel spins lol.

Spend the money, find a honey

'Shit' think I need to sell my Sunny!

But woman cant replace a sheep
Oh I wish that for the peace!
But I really cant find my honey
The only one I would give my money
Is one with a great big fleece
And then I would be at peace...
