gear link rod

hi.on the gear link rod theres a spring..just wondered if that spring should hold the rod quite tight or loose..its just on mine it tends to be very easy to move side to side with little resistance on that spring...is this right..thanks for any advise

I reckon you may want a new spring & perhaps some bushes in the selector rod to bring it back to better feel.
Was a thread on here done by Fred on this exact problem but can't find it at moment, will add it for reference if I do dig it up .

Mine was sloppy as hell until I replaced the spring and bushes, actually the spring was missing, it's feeling awesome now Laughing

I remember one specifically about the spring & some bushes & difference it had made, could of even been in his members ride thread. Got a feeling he may of done 2 threads on gear selector ....
