Its a great site and you can take parcels to local shops, drop off points etc or have things collected if to big - https://www.parcel2go.com/?gclid=CP-y27-GusYCFUTKtAodCUsCug

Expense and damage springs to mind mate sent headlight protectors uses ply to brace it but adds weight. When you say big how big ?

This said try and not let it out you off as its a shame for the aus lads to miss out

Only downside with a wooden or metal frame is that it will cost even more to send it? Could you use some bracing so they keep their shape and bubble wrap the shit out of them?

It pisses me off we or yourselfs have to pay big to share items woody. I have even  recived items from members and then re posted stuff to members abroad as others did not want the hassle just so people did not miss out

Fortunate thing is the kit is ultra light so can use extra padding
Not sure about bracing it more worried about heavier parcels packed on top of it

if I were you I would get some ply and make a crate to put them in
1/4 ply should be strong enough with a few batons as it will keep the weight down but one thing you cant avoid is the volumetric weight that's the killer!

plus theres your time and stuff making it so no matter what way you look at it, its not cheap by any means but if its to get there intact then that's the only way to do it with large f/g panels

I sent the aluminum bumper guards to Aus using Parcel 2 Go. Including insurance and got there safe and sound.

How does postage cost normally work? Is it based on weight vs size?

Woody, works on size up to a certain dimension then it works on volumetric weight and as Bob said, that's the killer.

there is a specific size (not very big) and weight 2kg before volumetric kicks in and when it does it is boosted.
