Hi all, just changed my pads today and notices a few small hairline cracks around the drilled area of the disks I have on the front. Is this that bad or will it be ok as I will only be doing a 20 min session but do want to get home after lol.

If anyone has any spare stock discs nocking about I may ask you to bring them with you

Its normal for them to get hairline cracks depends on how bad they are .. .... due to heat disapation they crack in the weak areas ... thats why i dont use drilled discs anymore i go for dimpled ...

Yeah these were what came with the calipers when I sold my wilwoods and got some stock brakes so just made do lol but as you say seems pointless if they just crack. Will see how I go :-)

Just take dust pan and brush with you just in case...I've heard they don't like metal debris laying around the track at Rockingham lol!

Im not saying they are a problem as such ....ive seen majority of them crack regardless of brand ...from sheds to exotic cars ...so my view is its the nature of them being drilled they are going to have hairline cracks ...

Mine had lots of hairline cracks, they look like surface cracks, found no problem with them, if it was a serious crack something would of failed by now me thinks.

I've never used drilled discs before but had a lot of friends who use them, and they had hairline cracks as well.

Yep I only use slotted as even decent brand drilled can crack if used hard/track.
