Getting old, treating myself to some car work later and a new rotary device to smooth off and cut back the surface rust.Any recommendations are welcome, I have only got a drill with a very very harsh wire wheel at the moment which seems to destroy metal like it's polystyrene.

I tend to use a flap wheel on a grinder .... the above link is the drill alternative you can get them in different grades like 40 grit 60 grit etc .... halfrauds do them aswell as screwfix etc ..
