removing servo

How do I remove this last nut inside the car.

I cant get a socket on it.
I have a wiggle head spanner. A normal spanner and an old spanner where the ends are curved. Open end and closed end.
Managed to turn the nut 1mm if that and I can't get a spanner head on the fucker now grrrrrrr

Whats that infront of it stu is it the bar that goes across the dash i cant remember ????

Looks like the plastic sheath that goes round the steering column.

Surely with a wobbly extension and a bit of swearing you can get a socket on that?

Yeah its the plastic around the steering column.
I could get a socket on but I didn't have a 12mm deep socket
Popped to halfords and picked one up and the nut was off in seconds.
Had a phone consultation with Bob too He gave me a few good pointers
Just got the servo out.
Gotta go out now so it will be this evening before I can put the new part in.

Can safely say the servo was fucked!

Its not a job I would gladly do again!!!
Brakes and idle feel and sound okay.
I think Bob was right when he said it had seized. Think I released it while messing and fault finding.
Needed to be changed tho!

Just need to sort the water temperature plug out as I have snapped the wire when putting the plenum back on

You didnt just drop the engine down then stu ..... it does look a tad rusty in there

No mate. I removed the plenum and inlet manifold in one
I did drop the engine a little on the driverside to get the servo out.
It was a nightmare getting it out!
Putting it back together was smooth and pain free tho

What a pain in the arse, never knew it was so much hassle. No that rust looks fine btw

All done in 1 day so can't grumble to much

Well that servo would deffo be leaking I would of thought with that much corrosion.
Servo removal not that bad really, good selection of tools makes all the difference on a pulsar.
pulling inlet & dropping engine a bit makes it easy really & if no y bracket getting inlet off is no big issue.

I had all the tools apart from a 12mm deep socket. So struggled inside the car for an hour before deciding to go buy one lol
Inlet was off in 20 mins or so.
But even with that off and engine lowered. The servo was tight in there.
Brake and p's pipes were in the way.
I didnt undo the brake pipes off master. So that was also in the way.

Yeh if you don't remove master then it bit more cramped coming out around it.
Have done one with manifold left on & just lowering/moving engine, not worth the hassle though as just as quick & less struggle pulling manifold.
You pick up a used brake booster easy enough ?
