Quick question chaps, im getting a used engine from Bob.

Before i fit it i want to give it a service. Can you tell me what the best brand / weight to get of the following

- Engine Oil
- Gearbox Oil
- Transfer Box Oil
- Spark Plugs

I've just ordered oil from the oil man
Gone for fuchs  10w 50 for the engine  
And gulf competition gearbox oil 75w90 expensive @ £70 for 5 litres
  I'll get the specs

thats the same stuff ive had in my car for the last 3 years the gulf is expensive but seems to be ok in mine

Gearbox>
I like the Millers as works well with the nissan syncros.
cheaper semisynthetics can be used for more general low power road car.
Got to be bit careful will particularly slippery oils as 20+ yr old nissan syncros don't work well with some oils.
You need 6Ltr for gearbox+transfer box

Engine oil>
Fuchs 10w50 is popular one.
5w50  5w40 good for cold winter weather & more general road dailly driver.
I quite like Milllers CFS 10w-50 &that about £44 for 5L
Huge amount of good oils out there if you can't afford top range esters look for some mid range stuff

Do shop about for oil or if use oilman Opie ask for 15% discount as oilman Opie sell on eBay with Paypal & seller fees as cheap as basic club discount (10%) & they ain't best prices around unless have 15 to 20% discount.
