I have been looking at exedy clutches for the R on eBay but my question is how can I tell if it's genuine or not? Are there any reputable sellers that sell the exedy clutches on eBay?

I have heard that but surely that doesn't mean ever exedy clutch on eBay is fake surely? Some of them are sold by massive companies so you would think they be genuine?

Well I ask because I have also heard that exedy do not supply to eBay sellers so I'm very weary of them. There is a big price difference though when you go direct to exedy compared to eBay so that says something really. Also the eBay prices vary a lot!

i really dont like the clutch though, its sounds like it slips when cold on the bite, not sure if its a fitting issue or the clutch itself but i wont buy another and wish i just bought a helix from the start

That was going to be my next questin, what's the clutch like? lol
I have heard a lot of bad reviews when it comes to exedy clutches in the R but I though maybe it was due to all the fakes going around.
Maybe I might have to fork out the big bucks for a helix affraid

personally i would up the budget and get something better, i thought it was just the breaking in period of the clutch but no the clutch will slip pulling off at junctions even after over 2 years since fitting. i was and still am totally gutted with the performance and you know its not just a 2 hour job replacing the damn thing again. as i say might just be my clutch and my experience but id avoid in the future, i loved my exedy in my honda but in the gti-r its shit Smile

Funky power are just up the road from me, was there last week for a wheel alignment, they are a bit "jdm yo" but a decent mob and their stuff will be genuine, prices are a bit high on some items bit will price match.

Personally I would go for the helix. Heavy pressure plate though so uprated clutch fork required.

Personally I would go for a Helix, I bought my organic one from Mardi Gras motorsport in Silverstone in 2007, never had any issues with it and ran the car as a daily driver until 2012, still running around stock bhp though, but iirc they are good for around 350 hp, don't quote me on that though, just some food for thought Bill Wink

i put an exedy stage 1 on my car a few months ago and its perfect, good solid clutch feel but not to heavy. You can feel that it has a good bite when you change down at high revs.My car is low powered but im sure they are fine up to about 320/330 bhp.
