Took my old waterpump off my engine today with the intention of fitting my new Nissan supplied pump. .
But on removal of old pump there was a gasket . Albeit its damaged ..but in box for new pump no gasket present. .

So phoned My friend at nissan parts department amd told him to order me a gasket ...

He called me back to say that Nissan don't list a gasket amd is a sealant job. .

So what do I do?
Clearly you can get a gasket as there was one on old pump

Sealant is fine. Use it on all water pumps at work

If you buy the ADL pump it comes with gasket.

Must admiit I do prefer a gasket but decent sealant effort ok.
May find ADL will do just gasket if want one.

Doing pump with engine in car I much prefer the gasket.
With engine out doing with sealer is no bother.
I tend always go for ADL pump as prices can be very good if shop around or you trade rated at a motor factors.
Pump is top quality & gasket is bonus.
