Black box passenger inner wing?

Alrite lads.

What is the little black box for on inner passenger wing with a plug & vac pipe coming off it?

I heard its something to do with boost? But the vac pipe connected just sits in inner wing open to atmosphere/not connected to anything? is this write or should it be connected to something

Also i have an AVCR so would this have been disconected for that reason?

Its a boost sensor mate and think mine is connected to behind the plenum im not a 100% on that though i just remember as this is where i t pieced in for my boost gauge.

hmmm? is there any need for me to connec it?

I honestly couldnt tell you mate wether the avcr replaces it somehow ive never fitted one maybe search a diagram on installation on one it may tell you or somebody will come along who has one fitted soz couldnt help you out anymore on that .

yes you should connect it as its also teed off to the fpr so that wont be working correctly if the pipes left open.

moral of story is dont leave any vacuum pipe open either connect it to where ever it goes or block it with a bolt or screw so the system is airtight

So where do i plumb it into Bob? (pics anyone?) & will this mean i have to set my AVCR up again or will it not interfear with the AVCR?

It's sending manifold vacuum/pressure info to the ECU so it'll probably bugger up the fuelling if it's not connected.

It has been mapped & ed didnt say anything? but yes mate if you could post a pic up ill connect it lol

Just connected this & found the standard boost gauge works

It should do lol

Sorry mate, got home a bit too late last night to go out taking pictures. but it looks like you've found out what it really does.
