I'm planning on changing the water at the weekend and was wondering how much it will take and is there a easy way of getting the air out the system?

I never have a problem pull the bottom rad hose drain and refill sqweeze the same rad hose as you refill with car running leave cap of then fit cap run car let it cool top up  thats all i ever do and never had a air lock. 6.6L from totally empty so you will use slightly less if your just changing it as the block will not be 100% empty. Remember only blue antifreeze in our cars ignor anyone that tells you otherwise or says they run a different colour and have done for years with no issue. USE BLUE   Mix wise do you use 50/50 or 60/40 or ?

Unless running a uprated rad will use that bit more

Because its not just blue pink and green for fun its the stuff in it now i am no chemest but blue is for older cars to do with the properties of the metal. Best mix is anti freeze distilled water and low percentage of tap water. What happens is if you use the wrong stuff or for example all distilled water the reaction in the block to get the missing chemical ie iron eats your block from inside out. Takes a long time but thats whats happening. More logic than that but in basic terms thats what happens ie no antifreez water would expand and crack block or pop core plug but also clog up the water cannals in the block similar to limescale in your kettle

Always blue, I 50/50 with tap water but the water round here is very soft so no limescale problems.

Follow bleed procedure from manual and you won't have a problem.
