Yeah I reckon you can go anywhere and relax around a pool. I like all the historical stuff that you don't find in every country etc, it makes going more worthwhile

tokyo japan.. lived there for 2 years, but dependant on time of year.
kyoto for historical sites, quite beautiful in the fall

Dec/Jan is very festive crisp and cold, autosalon is in first or 2nd week of January
July - September, boiling hot
Oct - Nov cooler and great time to visit

things amazing bout japan
food is incredible - particularly sushi, wagyu/kobe beef, tonkatsu, ramen
lots of car museums including nissan, honda, toyota.
historical sites
the ordered chaos
ease of getting around on transit - you can get a JR railpass unlimited bullet train usage

I hadn't even thought about the car museums in Japan!! does the language differnce make travelling there annoying? Some friends wanted to go snowboarding around there early next year aswell. I do like the idea of being able to travel around easily aswell

Barmouth north wales is a great place to holidsy if you want a relaxed holiday. Shell island, tywyn etc nice clean beaches...
Ibiza isnt going to be as good as it was back in the 90s. Old ibiza town used to be a great place.
Zante used to be a great place too. Not sure what its like these days tho.
It all depends what you want out of a holiday! Clubbing or culture?

Thanks for all the suggestions lads, I'm looking for more culture than clubbing on this trip. I've actually heard mixed reviews of Thailand from people I know, some love it, some hated it. Barmouth looks damn nice as well from the pictures. I've always wanted to check out New York since I was kid aswell, not sure what it's like these days

yeah the costa DEL Essex is a great place to go have a good old fight, get pissed or stoned out ya head and lay on the street all night with all the other twats, next day you can visit the gym and go for a makeover so you look all pretty and reem for the next night Laughing

I was in New York earlier this year (March) fookin freezing but if it wasn't through being so cold its a great place to visit with lots to do If you go there do the bus tour especially the one that skirts central park and goes downtown Manhattan, theres 3 different tours in all and very informative and cheap too.

Also don't discount Barcelona that's another place with loads of history

Lisbon Portugal as andy said

also Berlin is very good too, I was lucky enough to go there when I was in the army before the wall came down and been there since and still lots to look at. Actually Germany is a really good place with many things to do and lots of interesting historical things too
