if you fit braded lines or remove calipers or carry out any work on braking system where you are likely to lose all the fluid here is a little tip for you which I picked up years ago!
try not to let the whole system run out of fluid or youll have a not very nice job trying to bleed it
so fill the brake reservoir right to the very top with fluid and get a plastic bag, shrink wrap or similar and an elastic band and fit it tight over where the cap would normally fit, this then creates a vacuum and holds the fluid in the system a lot longer giving you time to do the lines without losing all the fluid in the system
if you don't do this you can end up getting air trapped in the brake proportioning valve and abs system and it can be a bit of a mare to get out so just a little heads up for you when carrying out this work, makes the job far easier.
similar thing happens when you do an oil change, after you've removed the drain plug and oil starts to flow, then remove the filler cap on rocker cover then note how much faster the oil runs out into the pan
