Hi All

Im having problems with my temp gauge been funny since i bought the car.

I have changed the sensors and i thought it was all okay but it smells very hot after a while and the temp gauge says its normal in the middle.

So i have taken sensor out and put it in boiling hot water and it only goes to half way? surly it should go to the top/red on the gauge?

personly i think the gauge has been messed with to make it look good but really its overheating?

So my question is should it go to the top of gauge with hot water from kettle or is the gtir different? personly i think it should go to red with boiling water

thanks

sam

i dont know wether it should or not as it might go on pressure aswell??
have u made sure there is nothing stopping the needle going all the way to the top of the guage as they may have tampered with it like that??

Because the water is under about 15 psi of pressure in the car it will boil well above the normal boiling point so it's quite possible that boiling water out of a kettle is only about mid range.
