Its loosing vacuum when the EBC is connected mate, I get like -0.3 on the boost gauge instead of the usual -0.6.

It must be the diaphragm in the solenoid that's fucked because as soon as i connect a pipe up the the vacuum port on the solenoid I loose vacuum so I don't want to use it

Definitely plumbed in correctly too, I can trace the vac pipe all the way to the vacuum port and if you kink the pipe just before the solenoid the vacuum comes back to normal so I know it's the solenoid where the problem lies

Can you not source a new/used solenoid for it or you fancy a full change of EBC .

To be honest I would prefer something abit more advanced than the HKS EVC EZ because it just has a knob to turn boost up and down and that's it lol

I could possibly get a new solenoid for it but I imagine they are expensive new and again it's a bit of a risk buying used off eBay etc so I think I'll just get myself a better controller when I have a bit of money spare

That manual boost controller I have with the ball and spring is no good  Rolling Eyes There's something wrong with it inside and it keeps scratching the ball bearings so they rust and don't move freely inside it  Evil or Very Mad
It's a good job I didn't use it!

I think that's the smartest thing you've said in this post mate lol

Reckon you should leave well alone, ask bob for a standard boost solenoid and make sure your hitting standard boost before messing around with manual one for now.

Sad I wanted a bar for the rolling road day though Sad lol

I might just go back to straight from plenum to actuator again and just have a solid 0.5 bar  Rolling Eyes

Just pub figures mate, try keeping the motor on the road and enjoying it.

At 0.5 though you will be wining the spoon lol. So just plumb it back to standard.

That's the thing though when I plumbed it back to standard it was fine for a day but then started over boosting to about 1 bar  confused
I assumed there was something wrong with the stock solenoid because I had never used it before because the car came with a boost controller.

Maybe I have a problem elsewhere that's causing my boost to be erratic?

The thing is though with it plumbed straight to actuator its probably just over 0.5 bar maybe even 0.6 but it's as solid as a rock! No spikes no messing about, just solid boost all the time

That's because you'll be running actuator pressure 0.5. Strange question but check your boost solenoid hasn't been drilled to allow it to bled air off (old trick before the 1 bar loop) came around

I'll have a gander at it. It's just funny how when I first connected it I was getting about 0.7 for a day or 2 but then it just started hitting 1 bar for no apparent reason so I disconnected it incase something was wrong with it.

I've plumbed it back in now so I'm going to take it for a drive with the stock solenoid in place and I will report back what she's boosting to lol

In all honesty I don't actually think you have a boosting issue....just a cheap way of making more posts...... .lol

Enjoy the drive

All seams well with stock solenoid in place, maybe one of the pipes I used last time was at fault

I'd drive it tomorrow and see how it goes, if your hitting standard boost still then you've solved whatever was causing your issues. Maybe try the one bar loop once you know all is well

Well just been for a drive with everything plumbed in stock and I'm getting just over 0.7 bar so everything seems ok.

Screw the 1 bar loop I'm just going to save up for a good boost controller I reckon Smile
